VBK Publishing Group will publish Podster’s Fatal Encounter and The World’s Wildest Bandits as Historische moorden and Beruchte boeven en bandieten in the Netherlands.
VBK Publishing Group has acquired the rights to translate and distribute the historical true crime podcast ‘Fatal Encounter’ and Podster’s original children’s series ‘The World’s Wildest Bandits’ into Dutch. The shows will be available for listeners in February 2026.
The newly signed agreement between Podster and VBK Publishing Group marks the first collaboration between the two companies. The partnership will initially focus on the distribution of two Podster podcasts in Dutch. The first is Fatal Encounter, titled Historische moorden in Dutch, a true crime series centred on the murders of well-known public figures, originally released in the UK and created by What’s The Story Sound. The second is Podster’s original children’s podcast, The World’s Wildest Bandits, first released in Denmark in 2024, which will be titled Beruchte boeven en bandieten in Dutch.
Since its debut, the podcast The World’s Wildest Bandits has expanded to multiple countries and evolved into a successful book series, making it available as a podcast, audiobook, and physical book. The title also launched a broader children’s universe that now spans several themes. VBK will begin by distributing The World’s Wildest Bandits, with the option to explore additional themes within The World’s Wildest universe in the future.
“We are delighted to partner with Podster and bring these compelling audio stories to Dutch listeners. Both Fatal Encounter and The World’s Wildest Bandits fit perfectly with our ambition to offer high-quality, engaging content. We look forward to introducing the series and exploring further opportunities together. We are excited to launch these audio-first series in partnership with Podster. With podcast listenership surging globally, we believe this is the perfect moment to reach audiences where they’re already listening,” comments Sanne Kanis, Business Developer Audio at VBK.
Henriette Høj Gharib, CEO at Podster, states, “We see great potential in this partnership with VBK Publishing Group, a company known for its strong editorial vision and broad market reach. The collaboration strengthens Podster’s international expansion and enables us to bring two more of our successful series to the Dutch market.”
The agreement represents a natural next step for both companies as they continue to expand their catalogues internationally. Podster and VBK look forward to working together on the Dutch releases, with both series expected to be available to listeners in February 2026.
