A Swedish version of The World’s Wildest Bandits will be published in Sweden in spring 2026.
Podster has signed a distribution deal with Bonnier Carlsen, one of Sweden’s leading children’s book publishers, for the Danish true crime podcast and children’s book series ‘The World’s Wildest Bandits’. In the coming years, Bonnier Carlsen will publish multiple physical books, e-books and audiobooks based on the Danish concept.
In just one year, Podster launched three seasons of a groundbreaking true crime podcast for kids, published a spin-off book in Denmark, and signed a distribution agreement with the largest publisher in Norway, Cappelen Damm. Now, it is time for this entertaining children’s concept to expand into Sweden in collaboration with Bonnier Carlsen.
Podster’s The World’s Wildest Bandits brings to life unique and entertaining stories of real-life bandits. From cunning scammers and daring bank heists to creative prison escapes, these true tales of bandits are both thrilling and unforgettable. The original concept is penned by Danish children’s book author Thomas Brunstrøm, best known for his popular Sally’s Dad series.
“Our agreement with Bonnier Carlsen brings so much joy to the Podster team. It is fantastic to see our beloved bandits reach new audiences in our neighbouring countries. We hope that Swedish children will come to love the series as much as the audience in Denmark,” comments Henriette Høj Gharib, CEO of Podster.
Bonnier Carlsen, part of the publishing group Bonnierförlagen, specialises in books for children of all ages. Over the next few years, Bonnier Carlsen will publish three books based on The World’s Wildest Bandits. The Swedish versions will feature brand-new illustrations by Johanna Kristiansson, known for her work on Katten Nils, Rymd-piloterna and Så funkar det.
The Swedish edition of The World’s Wildest Bandits will be titled Världens värsta skurkar, with the first book hitting shelves in spring 2026.
